The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (LS-DSVA) has called on victims and survivors to come forward with information in the ongoing investigation of an e-hailing driver linked to multiple cases of rape and assault in the state.

In a follow-up statement posted on X on Sunday, the agency said it is working with the Lagos State Police Command to expand evidence and ensure justice is served after the arrest of the suspect, identified as Adedayo Adegbola.

The DSVA commended the police for what it described as “swift and diligent efforts” in apprehending the driver.

The agency urged any other victims who may have been assaulted by the suspect to contact but through official channels.

“The agency is working closely with the police to ensure that justice is served, and to strengthen the ongoing investigation and expand the body of substantial evidence.

“We are calling on other victims or survivors who may have been assaulted by the suspect to please come forward,” the statement read.

It added that all reports will be handled with confidentiality and that survivors will receive necessary support.

The suspect was arrested by detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, after multiple online posts went viral with female victims identifying his photograph.

The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said on Saturday that the arrest followed a discreet investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Olohudare Jimoh.

The command said Adegbola is linked to cases of rape, assault, indecent assault and armed robbery against female passengers.

The police also recovered a red Toyota Corolla with registration number JJJ 226 HT, which was allegedly used to commit the crimes.

The suspect remains in detention as the police continue efforts to identify any accomplices. (The PUNCH)
