Anambra State, Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has celebrated and congratulated His Royal Majesty, Igwe of Nnewi, Dr. Kenneth Onyeneke Nnaji Orizu III on the occasion of his remarkable 100th birthday today, Saturday,, Nov 1st, 2025.

A statement Issued by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, and made available to journalists in Awka, described the centenary milestone of Igwe Orizu III as a historic achievement that evokes admiration for a monarch who has reigned with undiminished vigour, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to the service of his people.

Soludo said, “Reaching the age of 100 is an extraordinary feat that symbolizes divine favour, resilience, and the blessing of longevity.

“What makes this milestone even more remarkable is that His Royal Majesty continues to retain his mental acuity and physical vitality, discharging his royal duties with the same sagacity and clarity of thought that have characterized his illustrious reign of 62 years.

“Throughout more than six decades on the throne, His Royal Majesty has been a bastion of stability in times of change, a voice of reason in moments of tension, and a bridge-builder in the face of division.

His enduring reign stands as a testament to continuity, institutional memory, and the preservation of cherished cultural heritage amid rapid societal transformation.

“Beyond his traditional and ceremonial roles, the Igwe’s contributions to Nnewi, Anambra State, and Nigeria at large have encompassed peace-building, community cohesion, and the creation of an environment conducive to economic growth and social progress.”

The Governor described the Monarch’s national recognition as a Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) and his appointment as a Justice of the Peace (JP) as fitting acknowledgements of his exemplary service and the level of regard he is held across the nation.

While extending his heartfelt congratulations and profound appreciation to Igwe Orizu on his momentous centenary celebration, the Governor wished the long serving Monarch continued divine grace, fulfillment, vitality, and many more years of wisdom and guidance, praying that his reign will continue to inspire peace, prosperity, and progress in Nnewi, Anambra State, and beyond.
