A global security analyst, Ademola Abass, has faulted the Defence Headquarters, over its explanation about claims of a coup plot.

The DHQ had dismissed reports alleging that the cancellation of the 65th Independence Anniversary parade was due to the coup scare.

Weighing in on the matter, Abass said the DHQ’s explanation did little to douse insinuations about the coup claims.

“What came out of the military headquarters that I read doesn’t really help people who have given themselves to peddling the rumuors that whatever happened was because of the so-called coup,” Abass, a professor, said on Channels Television’s Sunrise on Saturday.

His comment came a day after Tinubu reshuffled the military hierarchy which many linked to the alleged coup, a claim the presidency has dismissed. (Channels TV)
