The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has inaugurated a SERVICOM Committee to review its Service Charter as part of efforts to deepen professionalism and improve public service delivery across its formations.
The Force also joined the global community in commemorating the 2025 Customer Service Week with a special event held at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the initiative is aimed at sustaining the momentum that earned the Police the award of Most Improved Service Delivery Parastatal in 2024.
Representing the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Research and Planning, DIG Basil Idegwu, reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to responsive, transparent, and accountable policing.
He said the newly inaugurated committee would review and strengthen the Police Service Charter in line with modern service standards and citizens’ expectations.
Egbetokun charged officers to build on the Force’s achievements, noting that sustained excellence and citizen engagement are key to rebuilding public trust and delivering effective policing in Nigeria
In his welcome remarks, the acting National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mr. Gbenga Anthony Oshin, commended the Inspector-General’s leadership and his commitment to reforming the Force through people-centred initiatives.
Represented by Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, Head of Operations, urged the Police to remain steadfast in providing quality service to Nigerians. (The Guardian)
