The Anambra State Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Chimezie Anaso, has been appointed to lead the Media Committee for the celebration of 60th Anniversary of the organisation.

The appointment letter by SWAN national body in Abuja which was unveiled on Monday is made up of a seven man Media and Publicity Committee for its 60th Anniversary celebration scheduled to hold between Oct. 29 and Oct. 31 in Abuja.

Other members of the committee include, Emmanuela Akpan, member/Vice Chairman Hembadoon Orsar Rosario, Chairman of Benue Chapter as Secretary; Ahmed Amshi, Vice President North East, member; Jacob Onjewu, Secretary Kaduna State Chapter, member and two Graphics/Info-Graphic experts.

The appointment letter signed by Isaiah Benjamin and Ikenna Okonkwo, President and Secretary General of SWAN respectively, said the committee took effect from Oct. 6 and would continue after the anniversary as a standing committee.

The letter reads: "We write to formally convey your appointment as the Chairman and members of the Media/Publicity, SWAN Diamond Jubilee/60th Anniversary and Beyond.

“Your appointment is due to your track record of dedication and drive for positive results and achievements which you have been identified with.”

According to the National Secretariat, the committee is expected to engage with relevant Media platforms including the Print, Online, and electronic media in the use of various contents regarding SWAN@60 anniversary.

On the issue of Terms of reference, the Committee is expected to evolve creative and practical ways that will ensure robust and steady Content Generation and Dissemination ahead of the upcoming SWAN 60th Anniversary.

It added: “The Committee will from time-to-time contribute to making SWAN Official Website to be robust with relevant information.

“Committee members are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions,”
