Late Hadiza Adamu
The Ona of Abaji and Chairman of the FCT council of traditional rulers, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, has lost of one his wives, Hajiya Hadiza Adamu Baba Yunusa.
The chief of staff to the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Salihu Kakamba, confirmed the death to our reporter on Saturday, at the palace.
He said the deceased died around 11:27pm on Friday, at the Abaji general hospital, after she left home at about 11pm for medical checkup.
He said the late Hadiza complained of symptoms of fever, and was rushed to the hospital by one of the palace drivers.
“It was at about 11pm on Friday, when she complained of feeling weakness of body and some signs of fever when she now left to the hospital. And upon arriving at the hospital, she alighted from the car and walked by herself to the emergency unit, “he said.
According to him, the nurses at the hospital were on the process to start checking on her high blood pressure when she suddenly gave up.
He said doctors at the hospital also confirmed her dead.
Kakamba, who is also the district head of Sabon Tasha, said arrangements are ongoing for the burial of the deceased by 10:am, which is expected to be attended by traditional rulers, top government officials, FCT area council chairmen and among other dignitaries.
Daily Trust observed that some traditional rulers from the FCT and neighbouring Niger, Nasarawa and Kogi states as well as top government officials have started trooping to the palace for condolences ahead of the funeral prayer for the deceased, slated for 10:00am. (Weekend Trust)
