A student of Platform College, Ipaja, Lagos, Abdulhameed Ibrahim, has won N10m after emerging champion in the Digital For All Challenge, a national information technology competition organised by Tech4DEV and sponsored by the United Kingdom government.
Ibrahim beat more than 15,000 contestants drawn from schools across the country at the grand finale held in Abuja.
In a statement, the proprietor of Platform Schools, Dr Bola Obe, described the feat as “a resounding affirmation of the school’s commitment to raising globally competitive students.”
He said, “This is not just a win for Abdulhameed but for the entire Platform Schools community. It shows that with the right guidance and resources, our students can excel anywhere in the world.
“At Platform, we are deliberate about exposing our students to innovation and technology because the future belongs to problem-solvers. This victory underscores the strength of our ICT programme and the dedication of our teachers.”
Obe also spoke of its newly launched A-Level (Pre-university) programme and the Platform Information Technology Academy to further equip students with the skills required to thrive in a technology-driven world.
He also congratulated the ICT teachers for their mentorship, parents for their support, and students for their encouragement throughout the competition.
