
Troops of 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy have continued their onslaught against suspected oil thieves in the Niger Delta region as their field training exercise code named Operation Crocodile Smile entered Day 4, with quite a number of activities that involved continued humanitarian assistance through free medical outreach, show of force, patrols and raids in the creeks.
On Monday, August 29, the troops with the help of Nigerian Navy helicopters, speed and gunboats, carried out raid on suspected oil bunkerers and militant camps at Afiagbene, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the troops recovered one locally made double barrel gun, one dane gun, three live cartridges, two pumping machines, one 32-inches LG Television, one Kenwood amplifier and four plastic containers of50 litres each, of liquid suspected to be crude oil at Ayakoromo junction.
