Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested seven suspected notorious “one-chance” kidnappers in connection with the murder of Miss Oluchi Opara Glory, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who recently completed her service in Abuja.

The breakthrough followed a petition submitted on July 21, 2025, by Onyegbula Akujuobi & Co. legal practitioners to the Inspector General of Police, which was endorsed to the FCT Police Commissioner and acted upon by the Scorpion Squad led by ACP Victor O. Godfrey.

According to sources, the suspects were arrested between Aug. 8 and Sept. 25, 2025, following actionable digital and reconstructive intelligence.

The arrested suspects are: Solomon Obada (29), from Ado LGA, Benue, resident in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, Olemba Ajonwe (29), from Otukpo LGA, Benue, resident in Aso, Mararaba, Aba Godwin (40), from Ogwarigbo, Benue, resident in Mararaba – recently released from prison two months ago over a “one chance” case, Kadijat Yakubu (18), from Sokoto State, resident in Badarawa, Kaduna State.

Others included Sunday Ejih Okpeh (29), from Otukpo, Benue, resident in Aso, Mararaba, Joseph Oche Samuel (25), from Benue, resident in Aso, Mararaba, Michael Sunday Eneh (25), from Cross River State, resident in Aso.

Sorces said the victim’s mobile phone was forensically tracked and recovered in Kaduna from suspect Kadijat Yakubu.

During interrogation, suspects Obada and Ajonwe confessed that they had held the victim inside their operational vehicle, a blue Golf car and stabbed her during a struggle over her android phone. They further confessed to abandoning her while she was bleeding in Wuse II, Abuja.

The police said efforts were ongoing to locate the victim and apprehend one fugitive suspect still at large.

Items recovered from the suspects include the victim’s phone and the operational vehicle.

The sources assured that investigation was ongoing and that justice would be served. (Zagazola)
