A 55-year-old man, Adamu Mohammed, of Zahi Village in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has been abducted and allegedly accused of witchcraft by members of a neighbouring community.
Mohammed’s son, Umaru Adamu, reported to the police that on Sept. 19, a group of men from Dangarfa Village invaded their home, abducted his father, undressed him, beat him, and threatened to kill him.
The abductors also forced the victim to cross a sick woman, Hajiya Zuwaira Bature, three times, alleging he was responsible for her illness. They later took him to a local chemist for treatment.
According to the sources, one of the suspects, Abdulwahabu Abdulrahman, subsequently took the victim to his house but later claimed the man escaped to an unknown destination.
Three suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the case, while efforts are ongoing to trace the whereabouts of the victim and apprehend the other culprits. (Zagazola, excluding headline)
