Another boat accident has occurred in Sokoto State, with many feared dead.

The boat, carrying predominantly women reportedly fleeing a bandit attack, struck a culvert edge around 7:30 pm, on Thursday and subsequently capsized.

Rescue efforts are currently underway as authorities work to assess the full extent of the casualties.

Details of the incident could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

A similar incident occurred in the Shagari Local Government Area of the state on August 29 when a boat capsized leaving many passengers missing.
