The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced that a crisis response simulation exercise will be conducted in Abuja on Thursday, September 18, 2025, as part of nationwide efforts to boost emergency preparedness.

According to a statement by Josephine Adeh, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the exercise will take place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre and will involve multiple security agencies under the coordination of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

The drill, the Police explained, is designed to test and strengthen inter-agency coordination and response mechanisms in the event of emergencies or security incidents within the country.

“Residents of Abuja, particularly those in and around the venue, are advised to expect heavy security presence and controlled traffic diversions during the simulation”, the statement read.

The Police Command urged members of the public not to panic, stressing that the exercise is a routine drill and poses no cause for alarm.

“The Command enjoins residents to cooperate with security personnel on duty and to adhere strictly to traffic advisories that may be issued in the course of the exercise,” the statement added.

The Command further appreciated the patience and cooperation of residents, assuring that the FCT Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the nation’s capital. (AriseNews TV)
