Akwa United supporters in an auto accident, one dies

Report has confirmed an auto accident involving supporters’ club members of Nigeria Professional Football League club Akwa United has left one dead, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The supporters’ club members were on their way to Port Harcourt along Uyo – Port Harcourt road to support their team in Saturday’s NPFL matchday 33 fixture against Enyimba at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium.

It is latest in the series of accidents that have involved teams as well as their supporters in the Nigerian top flight this season.

Players and officials of Ikorodu United and Rivers United have been involved in auto accidents this season. (Independent)
