It will be a day of thunderstorms, with chances of increased cloudiness and localised rain showers in Nigeria’s coastal cities: NiMET

Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition fortoday, Saturday, August 27, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Thunderstorms is expected to prevail over Sokoto, Nguru, Maiduguri, Kano and Potiskum in the morning. There are chances of isolated thunderstorms around Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Yelwa axis later in the day. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 31 - 34oC.

CENTRAL STATES: There are prospects of early morning thunderstorms over places like Abuja, Jos, Bauchi, Gombe and Taraba. There are also chances of afternoon/evening thunderstorms over Abuja, Minna, Kaduna, Plateau and Mambila. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 26 - 31oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Increased cloudiness is expected over the entire coastal cities with chances of localised rain showers over Shaki, Iseyin, Ondo and Akure in the morning. Later in the day cloudy conditions is expected over the southwest inland. There are prospect of localised rains over the entire coast including Lagos, Port Harcourt and Calabar. Isolated thunderstorm is expected over Enugu and Awka in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 28- 30oC.
