Adebisi assumes duty as new police spokesperson in Lagos

Superintendent of Police (SP) Abimbola Adebisi, deployed by the Inspector-General(I-G) of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Lagos State Command, has assumed duties.

The command Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi announced this in a statement on Monday in Lagos.

Oluseyi said that the new PPRO assumed duties on Monday. She replaced Benjamin Hundeyin, who is now the Force Public Relations Officer in Abuja.

According to him, Adebisi holds a BA (Ed) in English Language and Literature from Tai Solarin University of Education, Ogun State, a Postgraduate Diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.

“She holds a Master of Arts (MA) in English Language from the National Open University of Nigeria.

“Her professional development includes a Certificate in Child Protection from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Accra, Ghana, alongside certifications in Human Rights, Human Psychology, and Conflict Management.

“She has equally attended the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos. She is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

“She is a member of notable professional bodies, including the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP),” he said.

Oluseyi said that her past postings include serving as Staff Officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations, and as Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police, Special Protection Unit (SPU).

He said that until her current position, Adebisi was the Police Public Relations Liaison Officer at the Special Protection Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He assured residents and the media of her readiness to strengthen police-community relations in the state.
