The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has fixed October 5, 2016 to deliver ruling on the case of Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Danladi Umar gave this ruling in a siting in Abuja, on Monday, on a fresh motion seeking to adjourn hearing on the 16- count criminal charge.
Saraki had on June 14 filed the motion seeking to halt hearing on the criminal charges pending against him, alleging lack of confidence in the impartiality of Umar.
The Senate President has been accused of false declaration of assets, while in office as Kwara State governor between 2003 and 2011.
He was also alleged to have collected governorship salary four years after his tenure had elapsed.
In his motion, Saraki said Umar expressed bias when he warned of the consequences of the frustrating tactics of the defence team.
