The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has announced the release of the list of successful candidates for its 2025/2026 overseas scholarship scheme for Master’s and Doctoral studies.

The scheme Is a competitive funding programme which supports Nigerian students in pursuing advanced degrees abroad in fields relevant to the oil and gas industry.

According to a statement from the Fund, all candidates who took part in the interview exercise between July 14 and 25, 2025, are advised to check their status on the PTDF official website.

Additionally, the management announced that a virtual induction ceremony for all awardees is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Invitations containing detailed information and access links will be sent directly to the registered email addresses of successful applicants.

The PTDF congratulated the new awardees and urged them to prepare for full participation in the forthcoming induction programme.

“The Fund extends its congratulations to all successful awardees and anticipates their full participation in the forthcoming induction programme,” the notice said.

The PTDF, established to build capacity in Nigeria’s petroleum sector, has for decades funded postgraduate training abroad in science, engineering and energy-related fields. The annual scholarship attracts thousands of applicants, with only a fraction making the final list after a rigorous screening process. (The Guardian)
