The Kano State Government has cautioned against duplicating the Kano Elders Advisory Council, following the Arewa Consultative Forum’s (ACF) recent announcement to establish a similar council.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya.
Waya said that Gov. Abba Yusuf had already announced the establishment of the Kano Elders Advisory Council (KEAC) in January 2024.
According to him, the KEAC would serve as an advisory body to the government, comprising highly esteemed personalities from various fields.
“The Council is designed to operate as a neutral, non-partisan, and apolitical platform, leveraging wisdom, experience, and knowledge to benefit Kano State.
“The government invites organizations, individuals, and interested groups to collaborate and align with the established framework.”
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to an open-door policy, welcoming collaboration and partnership to sustain peace, progress, and prosperity in the state.
Waya said the government looks forward to finalizing the council’s structure and formal inauguration by the governor as a significant milestone in the state’s development. (NAN)
