At least 142 persons abducted by bandits kingpin in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of the state have been released amidst ongoing peace talks..
Zagazola Makama gathered that the victims were set free unconditionally by a notorious bandits’ kingpin, identified as Muhammadu Dansaadiyya on Wednesday.
He said the abductees were earlier taken from Gidan Gardawa, Kyambarawa, Maguru, Kurya Madaro, Kagara, Yankaba, Madira and Dogon Daji villages in Kaura Namoda.
“The 142 victims regained freedom on Aug. 27 at about 8:30 a.m. They were immediately taken to General Hospital, Kaura Namoda, for medical checks, debriefed, and later reunited with their families,” the sources said.
The released was part of the non kinetic efforts of the federal government to restore peace in the North West and secure release of all abducted victims in captivity. (Zagazola, excluding headline)
