A mud building collapsed and killed a mother of three, Habiba Nuhu, along with her two children and her grandchild while they were asleep in the early hours of Wednesday, in Zaria city, Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A source, Mallam Ahmed Ibrahim, who is a relative of the family, said the incident occurred between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday when a mud wall fence gave way and fell on the deceased, killing them instantly.

Narrating further, he said only the father and husband of the deceased, Nuhu Dogara, survived the incident.

Ibrahim gave the names of the children and grandchild as Hauwa’u Nuhu, Aina’u Nuhu, and Za’uma Nuhu, respectively.

He attributed the incident to the dilapidated condition of the wall fence, saying, “The fence is old. Nobody is taking care of it.”

It was gathered that the deceased were buried in accordance with Islamic injunctions in Zaria city on Wednesday. (Nigerian Tribune)
