Ogun Govt. commences demolition of illegal structures

The Ogun State Government has commenced the demolition of shanties and illegal structures along the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway.

The aim of the exercise is to actualise the plans and vision of the ‘Project Go-Green’ which includes beautification of roadsides around the Ogun road.

Speaking during the exercise, the leader of the team who also doubles as the State Commissioner for Urban and Regional Planning, Mr Adebola Adeife, said the vision of the State Government is to make the highway cleaner and safer for motorists and residents.

He urged all stakeholders to support the Government in actualising the vision, saying that after completion, heavy traffic along that corridor would be reduced while the aesthetic value of the road would be enhanced.

Some of the residents have welcomed the new initiative and assured the Government of their support. (Channels TV)
