Chief Rasak Adeneye Oshimodi, Olowa Iberu and Abore Awujale
The Olowa Iberu and Abore Awujale, Chief Rasak Adeneye Oshimodi, has apologised to all Christian, Muslim clerics, as well as other organizations in Ijebuland, over his recent viral comment on social media which denigrated them.
Oshimodi has unconditionally withdrawn his statement that some Christian and Muslim clerics have been coming to him to seek extra powers, spiritual fortification and assistance with the aim of increasing the membership of their congregations.
The Abore Awujale expressed regrets that his utterances, which were circulated on various social media platforms, had been affecting the churches and mosques negatively, saying he has withdrawn all his previous utterances on the matter.
He pleaded with the affected Christian and Muslim clerics and their organizations for forgiveness, saying: “Whoever I have wronged should forgive me from the bottom of their heart.”
Oshimodi also disclosed that all the necessary sacrifices regarding the late Oba Adetona’s passage had been concluded, assuring that everything will continue to be well with the kingdom.
He noted that anyone opposing and claiming that the tradition and culture of Ijebu people do not exist or are no longer potent is actually deceiving himself.
The Abore Awujale commended the ruling house for the unity and orderliness they have been displaying in the ongoing selection process.
He advised members of the next ruling house to cooperate with their family elders in ensuring the selection of the most qualified, experienced and globally connected individual, who is also intellectually endowed, to emerge as candidate.
Oshimodi commended the Fusengbuwa royal family led by Otunba Adedokun Ajidagba for the peaceful handling and effective administration of the ongoing selection process in the family. (Nigerian Tribune)
