Ahead of the November 8, 2925, Governorship election in Anambra State, the leadership of Cattle Dealers Association of Nigeria, Amansea branch in Anambra State have passed a vote of confidence on the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, with an endorsement for a second term.
The endorsement which took place at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha over the weekend witnessed over 105 markets under the umbrella of the Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA).
The group declared their full support for his re-election bid.
Soeaking at the event, the Chairman of the Association, Alahaji Bello Magari said they are unanimously supporting the Governor’s re-election in appreciation of the State Government’s business policies and infrastructure development which support their trades.
He appealed to Soludo not to relent in his support for the welfare of his members.
Earlier in his remarks, the Governor expressed gratitude to the traders and pledged to sustain ongoing reforms.
He said, “I have been intentional in pushing for a recreated and regenerated Anambra. Since assuming office, we have not borrowed a kobo despite ongoing projects, and we will not lose focus."
The governor disclosed his government 's plans to harmonise levies and taxes to prevent multiple taxation, saying that petty traders, hawkers, and barrow pushers remain exempted from daily tolls.
While urging traders to uphold the values of hard work, he warned the youths against the lure of “get-rich-quick” schemes.
On his part, the ASMATA President General, Chief Humphrey Anuna, said traders had prospered under Soludo’s administration, citing peace in the markets and youth empowerment initiatives such as the One Youth, Two Skills programme as a standing instance.
In their contribution, the Patrons of ASMATA, Chief Jude Nwankwo, and Chief Jude Agumadu, praised Soludo’s achievements in urban renewal, infrastructure, education, and security, describing them as transformative.
