The Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBDL), has presented the Chairman to of Anambra State Beach Soccer Association, Prof Victor Madubuko with an award in appreciation of his outstanding contributions in the game and his visionary leadership.
The award was also to commend relentless efforts in elevating beach soccer in Anambra State.
Notably, Anambra State under his watch has emerged a key hub for the sport, attracting top teams from across Nigeria and also hosting national competitions.
Presenting the award, NBSL CEO, Mahmud Hadejia, praised Madubuko’s “passion, dedication, and grassroots ddrie.
While describing him as the engine behind the sport’s unprecedented growth in the state, he said, "Madubuko has spearheaded an ambitious project to establish a permanent beach soccer facility in Anambra, complete with an international-standard artificial sand pitch.
"The venue hosted state and national competitions, served as a training hub for young talents, and provided a feeder system to the national league.
"His vision extends beyond sports, focusing on youth engagement, empowerment, and employment through the game."
Madubuko who received and dedicated the award to the players, coaches, and supporters who have embraced the sport said, “This recognition is not just for me, but for every believer in beach soccer in Anambra. Our mission is to make the game a frontline sporting activity in this state, and this honour gives us even greater motivation to keep building.”
