
Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition fortoday, Friday, August 19, 2016:
NORTHERNSTATES: Cloudy condition is anticipated over Sokoto, Gusau, Katsina, Dutse, Kano and Nguru except over Yelwa axis where localisedthunderstorms are anticipated in the morning. Later in the afternoon the entire region is expected to have localised thunderstorms except the North eastern axis that should be cloudy. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 28 – 32oC.
CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy condition is expected over the region with chances of early morning rain showers over some parts of the central cities including Abuja, Jos, Markudi and Lokoja. There are also prospects of localisedthunderstorms over areas such as Abuja, Bauchi, Gombe and Lafia In the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 27- 31oC.
SOUTHERN STATES:Increased cloudiness is anticipated over the inland and coastal cities of the south west with chances of localisedrains over some places in the south east during the morning hours. Port- Harcourt, Calabar, Lagos including Oshogbo, Akure, Ibadan, Enugu and Awka will have localisedrain showers later in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 29 – 30oC.
