Retired DIG Hashimu Argungu, PSC Chairman
Ahead of the 2025 Cadet ASPs and Constables recruitment exercise, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has cautioned state governments against hijacking recruitment slots allocated to them.
PSC Chairman, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Hashimu Argungu, gave the warning on Thursday during a stakeholders’ consultative meeting with representatives of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.
The meeting, themed “Collaborative Approach for a Transparent and Equitable Police Recruitment Process”, focused on fostering cooperation between the PSC and state governments to ensure fairness in the exercise.
Argungu stressed that while the Commission is committed to working with states to guarantee a transparent and equitable process, it will not condone any attempt to take over recruitment slots at the state level. (The Nation)
