Rivers State Administrator , Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas has met with the labour unions to discuss key matters and pledge its commitment to workers’ welfare

The Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has approved the appointment of new board members in various Institutions across the State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, on Wednesday night.

The Sole Administrator, upon resumption, had dissolved all boards and parastatals in the state.

In the new appointment list, the Rivers State University Governing Council is to be chaired by the former President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Okey Wali, SAN.

Also, for the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, a former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sampson Parker, is to serve as chairman, while Prof. Chizindu Alikor was retained as the Chief Medical Director.

Similarly, former Ikwere Local Government Chairman, Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, was appointed as the Chairman, boards of Rivers State Waste Management Agency, among other appointments.

The statement noted that the newly appointed Board members will be sworn in by the Administrator on no confirmed date.
