Militants numbering over 100 have stormed the Akwa Ibom State Government House in a violent protest, causing chaos in and around the Government House and Uyo, the state capital, in general, a report from the area said.
“They demanded that they must be included in the Amnesty Programme and that they must see Governor Udom Emmanuel at all cost,” Daily Trust reported on Tuesday evening.
It said that police have been trying to disperse the militants with tear gas and firearms.
