The Nigeria Police Force High Command, on Tuesday, confirmed that it has received an official petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an airport incident involving Fuji music icon, Mr. Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja by the Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
According to the statement, the musician was accused of engaging in unruly conduct that allegedly obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft, in violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations 2023. The incident reportedly occurred on 5 August 2025 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The statement noted that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to immediately launch a thorough investigation into the matter to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure justice is served.
It added that the Force remains committed to ensuring safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector, while assuring stakeholders of strengthened collaboration to enhance aviation security and enforce strict compliance with aviation laws. (Nigerian Tribune)
