Dangerously-armed herders
No fewer than five people have sustained injuries during a clash between herders and farmers in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to security analyst and counter insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, the Kano State Police Command said the incident occurred at about 2 p.m. on Friday, August 8 in Sabon Gida Minchika village.
The police said the victims, Abubakar Muhammad, Nasiru Miko, Umar Usman, Umar Sale, and Anas Usman, all from the same village, sustained serious injuries in the fracas.
They were taken to the Ungogo Primary Health Care Centre, where they were treated and discharged.
“Relevant stakeholders from both sides have been invited to forestall escalation, while normalcy has been restored and the area remains calm,” Makama said. (The Guardian)
