Woman, 2 men docked for allegedly making noise during court proceedings

A woman and two men accused of making noise and constituting nuisance within a court premises, on Friday, were arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

Idowu Okuwawanna, 40, Kayode Akintan, 48, and Lawal Ademola, 50, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

The Prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Aug. 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Samuel Ilori Magistrates’ Court, Ogba.

“They were making noise and constituting nuisance in the court premises while proceeding was ongoing,” she said.

Ikhayere further said that the offences contravened Sections 166(d) and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.

The Magistrate, Mr Lateef Owolabi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each with one reliable surety each in like sum.

He adjourned the case until Sept. 9 for hearing. (NAN)
