The US has sanctioned 18 entities, individuals accused of aiding Iran in evading sanctions and funding weapons programmes.
The United States on Thursday announced sanctions against 18 entities and individuals accused of aiding Iran in evading international sanctions and generating revenue.
According to a statement from the US Treasury Department, the targets include RUNC Exchange System Company and its leadership, Cyrus Offshore Bank, and Pasargad Arian Information and Communication Technology, an Iranian software holding company.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the action was part of ongoing efforts to curb Iran’s ability to fund its weapons programmes.
“Treasury will continue to disrupt Iran’s schemes aimed at evading our sanctions, block its access to revenue, and starve its weapons programs of capital in order to protect the American people,” Bessent stated.
The move underscores Washington’s continued pressure on Tehran, aiming to dismantle financial networks that allegedly bypass restrictions and support prohibited military developments. (ARISE NEWS)
