A woman was reportedly killed, and several houses were burnt during a violent communal clash between suspected Fulani herders and natives in Rwan and Kopmon communities, located in the Mushere District of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The Incident, which occurred on Sunday, August 4, was confirmed by the Youth President of Mushere District, who alerted security operatives at about 8:10 a.m.

Although the immediate cause of the clash remains unclear, local sources told Zagazola Makama that rising tensions between the two groups may have triggered the outbreak of violence. The confrontation claimed the life of one woman and led to the destruction of several homes.

Security sources confirmed that troops of the Nigerian Army, along with operatives of the Joint Task Force, were swiftly deployed to the area to restore order and prevent further violence.

Efforts are reportedly ongoing to identify and arrest the perpetrators of the attack, while surveillance has been intensified in the affected communities to prevent any further escalation. (Nigerian Tribune)
