The Niger State Liquor Licensing Board (NSLLB) has declared Bida town a non-beer sales area and warned all vendors and stakeholders to strictly comply with this directive. The Board emphasized that any violation of this order would attract severe penalties.

The Board’s Director-General, Barr. Haliru Sayuti Yahaya, further emphasized the importance of collaboration with traditional title holders to ensure that enforcement activities are carried out smoothly and without interference.

In a statement addressing recent criticisms of the Board’s operations, Barr. Yahaya reiterated the need for beer vendors to comply with established guidelines governing the sale and consumption of alcohol.

He warned that any vendor found violating these directives would face strict legal consequences.

Furthermore, Barr. Yahaya stressed that Bida town has been officially designated as a non-beer sales area, as declared by the Bida Emirate Council. He cautioned that any violations of this order would result in appropriate sanctions against offenders.

The Director-General assured the public that the Board would continue working closely with law enforcement agencies to uphold the law. He also made it clear that local government monitors are strictly prohibited from employing unrecognized security personnel for unofficial activities. (Nigerian Tribune, but headline rejigged)
