The Federal Government has trained no fewer than 300 new media influencers to enhance their capacity in promoting President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in Sokoto State.
The Minister of State for Works, Alhaji Bello Goronyo, said the initiative stemmed from personal commitment to projecting the true image of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Goronyo spoke at the one-day capacity-building programme on Monday.
“This programme is part of our unwavering commitment to promote the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and highlights the remarkable strides of Gov. Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State,” he said.
Goronyo said that social media influencers played a crucial role in shaping public discourse, either by promoting or distorting democratic values.
“We see the need to bring them together and engage them meaningfully.
“The goal is to encourage accurate reporting, avoid misinformation, and ensure fact-checking in their content,” he added.
The minister stressed that the Tinubu-led administration had recorded visible and verifiable achievements across various sectors including infrastructure, agriculture, security, healthcare, road development, and youths’ empowerment.
He urged the participants to take full advantage of the training to sharpen their skills and positively project the APC-led administration.
Representing Gov. Ahmad Aliyu at the event, his Deputy, Idris Gobir, commended the minister for his foresight and initiative.
Gobir described the engagement as a vital step in strengthening democratic values and promoting the government’s commitment to the people.
He assured the participants of the Sokoto State Government’s willingness to partner with the media influencers in advancing the administration’s nine-point Smart Agenda. (NAN)
