The Director of the Emeka and Bunmi Anyaoku Foundation Center (EBAF Centre), Obosi, Mrs Oluchi Nguzoro, has told the participants in the grand finale of the 7th Annual All Idemili North and South LGAs quiz competition that they’re all winners irrespective of their positions in the competition.
She made the comment while addressing the participants at the 7th Annual All Idemili North and South Quiz Competition, which took place at the Emeka and Bunmi Anyaoku Foundation Centre, Obosi, on July 30, 2025.
Speaking further during the event, which was co-hosted by the Late Marshal Ochokwu Foundation and Emeka and Bunmi Anyaoku Foundation Centre, Mrs Nguzoro stated that the participants’ qualifications for the final competition owing to their standout performances in the preliminary stages of the competition were irrefutable proofs that they’re academic stars.
“Chief Emeka Anyaoku built this centre to inculcate the love of education in our young people because education is the bedrock of national development.
“In addition to having a museum, this centre has a library, which has books on all academic disciplines for students in secondary schools and tertiary institutions.
“I would like you to know that all pupils here, today, are winners and stars because their schools selected them to participate in this competition based on their sterling academic performances.
“So the positions they took in this Idemili North and South LGAs Quiz Competition are immaterial”, Mrs Nguzoro said.
Mrs. Nguzoro took the pupils and their teachers round the museum and library, which are housed in the EBAF Centre and advised them to utilize them in their educational pursuits and endeavours.
And the founder of the Late Marshal Ochokwu Foundation, who doubles as the proprietor of Choice Immaculate Demonstration School (CIDS) Obosi, Engr. Solormy Ochokwu, said that the reasons for instituting the competition are to instill the love of education in the pupils, make them have the spirit of competitiveness and sportsmanship, and keep the memory of his father (deceased) evergreen.
“As kids we did not have this type of opportunity to participate in intellectually-stimulating and knowledge-enriching educational competitions like these pupils.
“So we instituted this quiz competition to rekindle the kids’ passion for education and make them have the spirit of competitiveness and sportsmanship, which will aid them to realize their lofty educational goals.
“And this quiz competition will keep the memory of my father, who died young, evergreen in people’s minds,” Engr. Ochokwu said.
