Armed kidnappers

Nine passengers traveling from Jos to Lokoja have been abducted by armed men along the Lokoja-Abuja expressway, near Karara community in Kogi State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26, when the assailants intercepted a Sharon vehicle with registration number BKK 98 JC, diverting it into the bush and taking all nine occupants hostage.
Local sources said the vehicle was discovered abandoned several hours later, following a search operation that lasted into Saturday morning. It has since been recovered and secured.
A representative of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Mr. Salau, who was alerted to the development around 7:30 a.m., confirmed that the passengers were en route to Lokoja when the incident occurred. (Zagazola)
