Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has hailed the Nigerian Super falcons for emerging victorious in the just concluded Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) held in Morocco

The Nigerian Female team defeated the host country Morocco to lift the trophy for the 10th record times.

Nwifuru applauded the commitment and patriotism demonstrated by the team.

“The girls have once again shown that Nigeria is the giant of African. This rare honor they have brought the country is worthy of commendation,” Nwifuru said in a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor, and made available to journalists in Abakalili.

While commending the team for coming from 2-0 to lift the trophy, the Governor expressed optimism that they will replicate the same at the global level in 2026 Female World Cup.

He called on other Nigerian National teams to emulate the dogged spirit of the Super Falcons in subsequent Continental and intercontinental championships.
