It was a gory sight in the commercial city of Nnewi yesterday night, Friday, July 25, 2025, as many people lost their lives when a speeding tipper crashed into a mixed crowd.

The incident was said to have happened around 9:30 p.m. along the Chisco Park Junction in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to a video from the scene of the crash and a CCTV footage that captured the incident, the people were engaged in their usual night business and activities when the tipper driver lost control and rammed into them.

In the video footage, many people – among them a little girl, other bystanders, many motorcyclists and some petty traders – were seen lying in the pool of their blood.

As at the time of filing this report, security personnel were yet to disclose the number of casualties from the accident.
