Kwankwaso receiving APC defectors in Kano into NNPP
Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has received thousands of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the NNPP.
The development was disclosed by Kwankwaso in a post on his official X handle on Friday.
“Yesterday (Thursday) was a momentous occasion, as I received thousands of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the New York People’s Party (NNPP),” he wrote.
During the event at his residence in Kano, Kwankwaso welcomed the APC defectors into the party and promised them equitable treatment and cooperation.
“The distinguished leadership style in Kano and our political leadership keep attracting more people into our fold, and I encourage those considering joining to do so without any hesitation,” he said.
Kwankwaso’s statement highlights the growing appeal of the NNPP in Kano, with many opposition party members drawn to its leadership style and policies.
