Police Command in Bauchi State has launched an investigation into an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and unnatural offences involving a 12-year-old boy.
The Command’s Spokesman, CSP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi.
He said the incident was reported on July 16 when the boy’s father lodged a formal complaint at the ‘C’ Divisional Headquarters.
According to the report, the father discovered excrement on his son’s trousers an observation the boy’s mother also confirmed had occurred multiple times.
“Upon questioning, the child revealed that he had been lured by three adult males into engaging in inappropriate acts,” he said.
The spokesman said following the complaint, detectives were dispatched to the location, and the boy was taken to a specialist hospital in Bauchi for medical evaluation.
“Two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident, while one remains at large,” he said
Wakil added that during preliminary investigation, a nearby watchman came forward voluntarily, stating that he had observed one of the suspects chasing the boy on two occasions and later saw the boy approach their residence.
“The watchman intervened and later explained the situation to the boy’s mother. The child eventually confessed to being influenced and sexually assaulted,” he said. (NAN)
