Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has mourned Prof. Steve Wordu, who was before his exit, a Board of Trustees member-designate of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Professorial Endowment Chair.
The Professorial Endowment Chair was for the promotion of Igbo history, language and culture.
In his condolence message, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Sen. Azuta Mbata, stated that Wordu was a strong supporter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Rivers State Chapter.
The condolence message was signed and issued by Dr Ezechi Chukwu, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, in Enugu on Monday.
“I have no doubt that the late erudite scholar could have obviously brought his baggage of deep intellectual experience to bear in the Ohanaeze Professional Endowment Chair, if not for the cold hand of death.
“I pray that God Almighty will grant his lovely family and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Rivers State Chapter the fortitude to bear this painful loss.
“He was a native of Choba, in Obio-Akpor Area Council of Rivers State, a professor of Sociology in the University of Port Harcourt, where he taught Political Sociology and Governance Studies,” Mbah said. (NAN)
