Popular fashion designer, Seyi Adekunle, aka Seyi Vodi, called for a party and guests answered in their numbers, donning all forms of white attire in keeping with the evening’s dress code.
It was an all-white evening of praise to mark his 50th birthday and give thanks to God for how far he has come, having been in the industry for over two decades.
The newly renovated and renamed Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre was transformed into a glowing haven of white. Rows of white chairs, gold lighting, and soft LED pin lights created a cosy but luxurious atmosphere. A giant portrait of Seyi Vodi dominated the stage, framed in gold accents, while indoor sparklers and fog effects added drama to key moments.
From the moment guests stepped onto the red carpet, the evening was filled with music, dancing, worship, and heartfelt moments that reflected the celebrant’s spirit of gratitude.
Gospel singers, Tope Alabi and Adeyinka Alaseyori, set the tone for the night with soul-stirring praise sessions. What began as a milestone birthday unfolded into a full worship and praise encounter where both the host and his guests had a swell time.
During a worship session, Vodi was visibly overwhelmed and emotional. He dropped to his knees, with tears streaming down his cheeks, and his hands lifted in thanks.
Another highlight was when family and friends encircled him for the birthday song. He prostrated himself on the floor in gratitude to God, as firecrackers were fired into the air and the voices echoed, “Happy birthday to you…”
Notable among attendees were the former President of Liberia, George Weah; and entertainers such as Jide Kosoko, Sola Sobowale, Kate Henshaw, and Dayo Amusa, among others.
Still basking in the excitement of his golden jubilee, the fashion designer and socialite bought himself a 2025 Rolls Royce Cullinan Series 2 worth $700, 000 (about N1,090,000,000). (PUNCH)
