The landlord captured in a viral video allegedly threatening a student over rejected sexual advance
A Lagos-based landlord is on the run after threatening to murder a 300-level University of Lagos (UNILAG) student and kill the case with N500,000.
The incident occurred In the Igando area of Lagos State and gained attention after the student posted a video of the threat on TikTok under the username @auraa_ural.
In the video, the unnamed man boasted: “I will kill you. I am going to use N500,000 to cover up everything.
“You are going to die. You are a rat; N500,000 will settle everything.”
During the threat, another man was seen holding him back from physically harming the student, who made it clear she would not allow him to sleep with her.
The student reported the incident to the police, and officers from the Igando Police Division responded.
Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos State, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated: “She reported the incident at the station, but the landlord fled. We are searching for him and will take appropriate action once he is located.”
The student explained that the socket in her apartment was faulty when she moved in, but the landlord refused to fix it and instructed her to charge her devices In his place.
She also mentioned that he engaged her in inappropriate conversations when she went to charge her phone for the first time.
“At times, he texts me in the night and comes to knock on my door, asking me to come out to chill with him. After a while, he stopped answering my greetings and started beating me.”
“On Sunday, he came and brought out a plank to beat me. I was rescued by a neighbour,” she added. (The Guardian, excluding headline)
