The Director-General of Nigeria First Agenda, Mr. Henry Nwabueze, on Monday, said that the group plans to create 15.8 million jobs across all sectors of Nigeria’s national life.

Nwabueze said this in a statement and made it available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

The plan, he said, was expected to drive the country’s interests and progress for national development in all sectors of life, while also reducing rural-urban migration, build skills, and establish diverse industries.

“Our group aims to create 15,772,740 jobs nationwide, paving the way for strong oversight functions on public and private-sector organizations and establishments.

“This is in order to pursue sustainable conformity with the applaudable Presidential Policy not only in all sectors of the economy but in all areas of our national life.

“Beyond the foregoing, there is an intention to drive from a corporate point of view a practical push for setting up cottage industries in agribusiness, processing, metal fabrication, welding and industrial designs,” he said.

Nwabueze said other areas of focus include phone-making, temperature systems technology and their like at the lowest level of governmental presence in our country.

“This is to develop skills and the capacity of the grassroots people, for coordinated participation in national development and the resultant self-sustenance.

“This initiative will be implemented across all Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Nigeria and will possess the capability to reduce the kind of poverty that is driving the nation’s youth into misdirected restiveness,’’ he said.

He said with President Bola Tinubu’s signing of the Executive bill, as Nigeria First Commission Bill, the country would railroad to embark on a journey to unlock its full potential.

This, he said would be over sighted by the Commission’s Directorate of Corps Mobilisation and Participation.

“As the name implies, the Nigeria First Corps, the Commission will through both field and office activities oversight all aspects of our national life.

“As the President aptly puts it, ‘Poverty is not in Nigeria’s DNA; it was a choice we made as a nation.’”

“This statement underscores the government’s commitment to reversing the trend of poverty and fostering economic growth through the Nigeria First Policy,” he said.

Nwabueze further said that the Nigeria First Agenda transcends tribal, traditional, religious, and political divides, emphasising a shared identity as Nigerians.
