Tributes have continued to roll in for late Nigerian actor, producer and filmmaker, Kayode Peters, who passed way in Toronto, Canada.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that his family made the announcement on Instagram that the actor died after a prolonged illness on Saturday.
He was popularly known for creating and producing the popular series, ‘Flatmates,’ and serving as the executive producer of its successor, ‘My Flatmates’.
Many Nigerians had expressed shock on social media, on the news of the demise of the entertainment icon, describing him as a jolly good fellow.
Meanwhile, tributes have continued to roll in for the late producer, with many recounting good times they shared with the actor.
Reacting to the demise of Peters, Nollywood actor, Freddie Leonard wrote on his Instagram page: “Ah! Kayode, this is a painful exit oh. You were an all-round good guy.
“Always willing to support, collaborate and always willing to push people into great strategic positions.
“Every time we spoke on the phone, it was always a burst of great ideas on all we can become in this creative space. Brother, I GO MISS YOU,” he said
Another actor, Gabriel Afolayan also took to his Instagram page to express his commiseration, “God bless your soul, you are a genuine human and you made your mark. You made life easy for me while coming up in the game.
“You took me in during the NYSC days and also the first indie label to sign me as a musical act, you believed so much in my music. I respect you, we love you l, rest on, rest easy, rest well.
“The Nigeria Entertainment Industry salutes you. This hits home so hard. Condolences to your wife, children and the rest of the family,” he wrote.
In the same vein, a former housemate of the Big Brother Naija series, Mayowa Adewunmi wrote: “Life is so so fickle….The last memory made together just last month and it still doesn’t make sense to me.
“Love and cherish your loved ones. Tomorrow isn’t promised but you lived well Uncle ‘KP’ and may your legacy continue forever, you would be greatly missed”
NAN reports that the late Kayode was into theatre at the University of Lagos, where he later moved into production by producing series like ‘Papa Ajasco and Company’ and ‘Twilight’. (NAN)
