Delta State PPRO, SP Bright Edafe
A 23-year-old man, ThankGod Elufo, has allegedly stabbed himself to death behind Nwodo estate in Ajaji (Bonsaac) layout area of Asaba, the Delta State capital.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident happened on Sunday after his elder brother asked the deceased to dress up for an outing.
Eyewitness told our correspondent that when the incident happened in the night, a call was put across to the Vigilante Chairman in the layout, Mr Okolo, who visited the scene.
The eyewitness said, “The incident happened behind Nwodo estate in Ajaji layout. They called the vigilante Chairman to inform him.
“I went there with the vigilante Chairman, Mr Okolo, yesterday night, according to his elder brother who asked him to dress up for an outing. The brother was waiting for him, not knowing that his younger brother had entered the kitchen and stabbed himself.
“So, when we came there and found his body in the kitchen. The Chairman vigilante in Ajaji layout, called DPO B Division, who sent some police to the sce’e around 11pm, his bod’ was removed by police to be deposited in the morgue.
“The young man escaped poison last year. He was poisoned by an unknown; since then, he has been acting funny. Sometimes he will start shouting that people want to kill him but his brothers did not understand.”
The Police Public Relations officer, SP Bright Edafe, on Monday confirmed the incident.
