FIFA president and US vice-president attended Dortmund's game
Adeyemi admits he didn't know who they were
BVB progressed to Club World Cup round of 16
WHAT HAPPENED?
Adeyemi caused laughter after Dortmund reached the round of 16 at the Club World Cup with a funny moment when he admitted that he did not know FIFA president Infantino and US vice-president Vance. The pair attended Dortmund's game against Ulsan Hyundai on Wednesday, with the former winning the game 1-0 and progressing beyond the group stage.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Infantino and Vance watched the Black and Yellows play live from the stands at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. As a result of their presence, security was ramped up to the maximum level. Snipers secured Vance's safety in the stadium, and the BVB bus was searched by a sniffer dog before the game.
WHAT KARIM ADEYEMI SAID
When asked in the mixed zone how he perceived the commotion surrounding FIFA president Infantino and US Vice President JD Vance at the match, Adeyemi replied with a laugh: "I have to be honest, I don't know who they are."
After a brief explanation, the attacking player finally realised who they were and admitted: "I'm not so good with names."
WHAT'S NEXT?
Die Schwarzgelben will now face Mexican side Monterrey in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup in the early hours of July 2.(GOAL)
