Kidnapped police officer escapes from bandits’ den

A police officer who was abducted by armed bandits in Niger State has successfully escaped from captivity and reunited with his family in Kaduna, authorities confirmed on Sunday.

Zagazola Makama understands that the officer, ASP Steven Gabriel, who is attached to the Force CID Annex in Kaduna, was abducted on May 28 while carrying out an investigative assignment in Sarkin-Pawa, Munya Local Government Area.

According to fresh details, Gabriel managed to escape from his captors at about midnight on June 20 and made his way back to safety. (Zagazola, excluding headline)
