Nigerian court grants America’s request, orders extradition of Terrorist Babafemi a.k.a Abdullah and Ayatollah Mustapha

It’s a done deal: Lawal Olaniyi Babafemi a.k.a Abdullah and Ayatollah Mustapha will be extradited to the United States of America to face trial as requested by the U.S. Government. The order was given this afternoon by a court in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, effectively sealing the fate of the 33 years old Nigerian described as a a member of the Al-Qaeda affiliate in Yemen and assigned to find English-speaking recruits.

According to Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Abuja Federal High Court, “An order is hereby made that the respondent in this case, Lawal Olaniyi Babafemi … be extradited to the United States of America to face the indictment against him.

“It is also ordered that the respondent … shall be surrendered to the officials of the United States of America not later than 15 days from the order of this court.”

Babafemi, who has been in detention for about two years neither spoke in court nor opposed the ruling.

News Express had reported earlier this afternoon that Babafemi was yesterday indicted by a Brooklyn Federal Court in the USA in connection with international terrorism. He was indicted yesterday for ‘providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (“AQAP”), and using high-powered firearms in furtherance of that crime,’ according to a statement by the U.S. Department of Justice.
